I try not to have a favorite color. But if I tell the truth, I almost always START with "opening night" with the tail died chartreuse. I will change colors pretty quick if I don't get bit or if I have an idea that another color would be better for the situation, but I love "opening night". If you haven't seen it, it's a fairly new Bass Assassin color.

black/chartruese or the clear/black bass assasin

several favorites... My Christmas Jig FL. Red/Green/FL Yellow Been using this color combo for 30 years or more. Also FL. Red/Var. Blk & FL Yellow/Hot Orange Last year was really great in the Spring early (also the other one in the pic below was great). Silver/FL Yellow/Lt. Blue and more than one person here on this board can tell you how good this can be. I think this pic has all three of the above... One more color and different kind of tail that they loved last year.. I will most likely be adding a few this year that are not new colors, but new materials and size jig heads. On a sunny day my first is Silver/Lt. Blue/White

Don't really have one. Have 4-5 colors I tend to prefer more, but as I have learned from the long-time, experts (and I don't mean that sarcastically) on here, is presentation/location is more important than size/color.
In the past year, I've come to find out that I agree with that assessment. The slips in particular have shown me this.
Now as far as seasonal, I'll tend to go more plastics (especially minnow/shad like baits or colors) than hair jigs in the Summer. Other than that, I have a whole tackle box of color combos and the fish most times don't seem to have a preference in that regard.

it seems like the most popular so far is chartruese...I like chartruese as well as white.
I actually heard an interesting story, someone can reject this opinion if they would like.
I heard crappie are not that attracted to crawfish for taste reasons. This leads me to beleave maybe the darker colored jigs dont work as well because it might represent a crawfish.
On the flip side, the crappie might take in the crawfish for curiosity reasons then spit it out, so either way you should catch fish =)

I have my favs and every day it's different, but I think shad colors have to be the "go to" colors for me. Makes sense to me to try and match their natural prey's color.
