The line also coiled badly once spooled - again spooled in the same manner as the other fluorocarbons. I personally rate it as poor and won't use it. I guess I am an exception to the replies above.

Sounds you got an aged or weathered spool...that's too bad. I've been nothing but extremely impressed with my Vicious Line.

I used a palomar but as mentioned by others I too soak it once if not twice when cinching it down but I haven't used a mono hook set in years switching between all these low strech lines (SW fusion, SW braid, Flour, etc.) too many fish with concusions from hitting the side of the boat on super hard hook sets with low strech lines { and sore arms }

-- according to the seaguar website it's the same diameter as the Vicious 15lb, the BPS XPS 17lb is the same diameter (they don't show a 15lb class) and I could not find P-line diameters on the website. I've not tried the P-line and the invis-x I tried was a lighter line class. I've thought they used to have a Carbomax line but I couldn't find it on the website anymore.

Does the spool you have say .015in. Dia ? Maybe you got last years version?

Ian

You may want to contact Vicious Fishing directly. I (and many others apparently) had a bad experience with the line and reported it to the company. They acknowledged the problem and were able to isolate the issue to early batches of the line that did not receive adequate quality control. They replaced the defective line and I have not had an issue since.

I ordered several spools of the flouro and copoly and used the floruo on all my setups at Palestine this weekend. I am SUPER impressed with this stuff. I was literally reeling in tree limbs (not just branches but entire limbs) because this stuff just wouldnt break. Super abrasion resistant aswell.

I'll be ordering some more in the next couple weeks to replenish my stock.
