Hey Mike, Doesn't the Army furnish electricians. They ought to. My suggestion, Get a Dam Electrician. You know how to be a Soldier and Thank God for that but you know enough about electricity to stay away from it. Mike.

No,No. Your vehicle lights will demand the current because they are of better wiring integrity. You have a parallel circuit meaning that voltage remains the same thruout any added circuit. If your added circuit does not funtion properly then you either have a loss of voltage or a bad ground. This is called a "voltage drop". Voltage drops results in either weak or non funtioning devices such as: corroded,dirty or loose battery cables will cause statrting problems.(voltage drop) Yes, LED does draw less current. "Light Emiting Diode".
