I have 2 of the CC-6-1610HS split grip rods called the Head Turner. Very nice so far. I know Fun N sun and Brannans will have them at the show and there should be some on display in the Falcon booth.

Is the show this weekend or next? Getting restless knowing it's right around the corner.

I didn't see any in Brannan's a week ago when I came through, and I haven't seen any in 3 of the BPS stores. They are listed in the 2008 BPS catalog. Looking forward to getting me on of those 6-1610 split grip worm rods. Coach

I was told they would show up at Fun N sun, Brannans, and Southwest Parts first then the big retailers. I know Fun N sun has some already as of 2 weeks ago.

Kathy at Brannan's told me she hoped to have them at the Tackle show, but didn't have them in her hands yet. I'm ready to try one out. Anyone need a less than year old Falcon Cara 6-1610 in great shape, so I can buy a new one? Coach

Well just got in from setting up the Falcon booth at the show and a Falcon staff meeting. There are some cool things coming down the pike from Falcon in the future. Also there are a handful of the new Cara T7's at the show including the split grip models. I would get there early if you plan on getting one. Thanks

I imagine that the small number of new rods we are seeing are due in part to the usual teething problems with a new product and Falcon's unwillingness to put anything out on the rack that isn't 100%.

Well..

After playing with my new T7, I am impressed but not amazed.

It is the same blank as the old Cara's, they added different guides and did some minor cork upgrades but all and all it is just a revamped T6.

Should I say, it's just a T6 with a few parts off the Expert series..

... Who knows.. I still like them tho.

You left out the part about the new Fuji ACS reel seat. Together with better line guides, a better grade of cork and the reel seat the T& models weigh in at less than 4 oz. in weight. The Split grips are in the 3.8oz range. They have increased sensitivity and reduced weight.
The Cara platform was already an exceptioal rod and it was hard to make it better but I think the added changes are a definite improvement on the rod.
