I've got a G Loomis GLX BCR893. (7'5" 12 - 16 3/16 - 5/8 Ex-Fast Med-heavy)
It has the Recoil guides. I've never fished anything on it except fluorocarbon, so I can't speak to using braid with the Recoil guides. I can say that I've been very happy with the performance of the Recoil Guides with fluorocarbon. I started out using 15 lbs. test InvizX, but switched to 20 lbs. test Sunline Shooter. I've had very good results with both of these lines.
