Curado without a doubt. Have tried all brands but always come back to Shimano. It is the best performing, most reliable reel going IMHO.

What is this revo you all speak of? I have seen them, but never fished with one or really looked at it. It wasn't what I expected as the top choice. What makes it so great? I just have the cheap S model, and it casts smoother and retrieves smoother than any of my shimanos (51mg, Older Curado 201, Old Chornarch 201, New Citica 201). I also like the shape and it's pretty light at 8.5 oz. They also have the highest drag capacity of any reel of similar size (not that it's necessarily important to have a 24 lb. drag setting on such a small reel).

Since I am a firm believer in buying American ardent is the way to go an ardent reel will outcast a shimano or diawa. I havent tried them against any others also their service is second to none. I don't think anyone can show mr a reel with 10 ball bearings a magnesium frame for the same money' They now have a 6 bearing with mag. frame for a little less. Personally I try to spend my money where it stays in this country that is why you will never see me in the checkout line at Walmart.
