Southwest like many other small companies understand the importance of every customer that walks through the door. They keep a good working relationship with there reps, so that they can pass the benefits on to you. It is simple as that. This is why if Shane, and Paul have it. I buy it from them. If they do not carry it I rib Shane about stocking them. (which never works)
BPS, and all other large chain stores are not so intrested in pleasin you.

Academy has started carrying G. Loomis rods once again. Academy has a two word return policy. "NO PROBLEM"! If you buy anything from Academy and have a problem with it, take it back. This is one big box company that understands customer service. If you ever have a problem ask for a manager. G. Loomis knows Academy's return policy before they ever decide to let them sell their product. Academy may not carry the specific Loomis rod you want but the rods they do carry all can be replaced, NO PROBLEM!

What people don't realize is the retailer is also loosing a rod that could sell and money be made from. While I agree with the customer is alway right I also feel there are some customers a business doesn't need because they will never be happy and cause more headache than they are worth.

I have done it at Barlows and SWP. I was honest and told them that I did not purchase the rod from them. I did however fork over a bit more for an upgrade.
If I rememeber Barlows does not do it anymore and that is why I went to SWP.
What kind of Loomis' does Academy carry?

Second Wind, Southwestern Parts customer service is that good. Ask for Shane. Quite a few TFF members have been dealing with Southwestern Parts in Dallas for years now.
Check out the Shimano Cumera rods while you are there. Shane just got his second shipment of them in. I had to get one after he showed them to me.

Second Wind Try www.SouthwesternParts.com for a map and phone. If you head towards Irving Blvd/ 356 from I-35, Sw Parts is last drive way about 60ft before you get to the corner. If you see chain link fence on your right or get to the traffic light.. you went to far... turn around! SW Parts will also have a nice display booth at the Arlington Fishing and Outdoors show January 2008. Bazz
