I liked Clark's in Tioga the one time I ate there. I used to like the Mikeska's in Temple but that was over 20 years ago.

No one has mentioned Colters, so here is a vote for them. I did!!! I did!!! That stuff was really bad. Someone just mentioned Dickey's. I finally broke down and tried Dickey's the other day. It wasn't the best that I have had, but it certainly wasn't the worst!

Place called the "Rib Crib" in Tulsa OK. They really don't have any good BBQ up there. Agree with you Bigbob, I ate at a Rib Crib in Searcy Arkansas, and it looked and tasted like low grade dog food

It really bothers me when I have to hold my Sonny's Q sandwich with both hands to keep that awful brisket from falling out and when the Bud is served in a UNFROSTED mug. The sauce you have to put on yourself really makes it difficult to not get enough on the Q. I really get irritated when the rings are not large and it only takes one bite to finish one off. And that is all I have to say about that except when you go in to get seconds the birds carry off the Q .

Boy...I gotta agree with you guys.... anything with the name Mikeskas...Is a trip to the "VOMITORIUM!!!" I have to be careful on my directions when I send folks to Muellers in Taylor (One of the best in the state!} Cause they share the same parking lot!!!!

Not that we have a reputation up here on the " Giant Side " as the well deserved joints in East Texas, but most of us West Texans appreciate good BBQ.
Rudy's does not fall into that category. AWFUL !!!

My mother in laws... Sunday we went over there to celebrate my F-I-L's B-day and she served oven cooked BBQ that was drenched in Kraft Honey BBQ sauce! Took all I could do to down 3 slices!

Bubba's Barbecue in Eureka Springs was the worst. The Dixie Pig outside Memphis was the second worst. Sonny Bryan's (never been to the orginal) not too swift. Dickey's - fair at best. Clark's in Tioga was way overrated. No beter that the above mentioned...at least the day I tried it. You have to look hard to find good BBQ in OK. Elmer's in Tulsa used to be very good until he passed away. The Badwich was awesome. Wilson's "U Need No Teeth to Eat Our Beef" is usually pretty good. Head Country in Ponca City used to be good but haven't been there in years. Leo's in OKC is good. At least it used to be...it's been several years since I have been. Rib Crib - not so good.

The worst down in McAllen has to be the Mesquite Grill. First, I had to wait 15 minutes before a waiter came to my table. I ordered brisket and he said they didn't have any. So I ordered Sausage. Then the waiter came back and said they had brisket. So I said "fine". About 15 or 20 minutes later he came out with a really nice looking piece of meat, but it looked like an ordinary piece of roast beef, with the sauce on the side. I mentioned that to the waiter, and he said, "oh, the sauce is what makes it barbecue." The young guy must of thought I was a yankee winter Texan. (I am NOT, I grew up in Big D and I have eaten my share of real, pit cooked BBQ in my day!) So I ate it, and it tasted like a piece of oven roasted meat with no flavor. I never went back there.

Yeah Al, I've been to a few places that advertised Bar-b-Q brisket and what I got was just like roast beef. Wasn't bad but it wasn't smoked brisket. Both places were in here in Texas. WTH are they thinkin?

Head country is still good. Great sauce. Never got to try elmers ( i grew up there), but Notty Pine was average. Not much choice in Tulsa.
