Bite started slow this morning. Then around 9:30 it picked up. Didn't get a limit today but the quality was better than quantity. Managed 15 keepers out of about 20 fish. One big ole' boy. 20 foot of water on brush piles, 12 foot down. Then about 10:30 it shut off. Most caught on jigs, a few on minners. The big one was caught on a dead dried out squashed minnow
Keep on fishing.

Hey DB, I also had a great day on granger using jigum jigs, man did they ever hit the white/chart/orange combo. Caught about 40 total with 17 keepers. Gave all my fish away to Ruben and a few others at the fishing pier. Not a bad day for a solo run. NO MINNERS ON BOARD HERE!!! It was nice meeting up with atxbandit, still need to meet up with you someday DB!

Glad to hear y'all are having some luck on Granger. Been tearing the crappie up on the Sportsmans Dock here on Belton. My thumb is getting raw from lipping so many of them. Like KOOBYCRAPPIE I have been using only Jigum Jigs. What are MINNERS anyhow. In five morning I've put up 102 keepers. must have caught over 200 fish.

Glad everyone is tearing them up. Woulda liked to have gone out this morning but had to catch up on some yard work. Knee deep in leaves. Also having another fish fry this afternoon. Had to prep for that. I'll be going out again in the morning. KC/Thump going without any minners, Jigum jigs only w/crappie nibbles of course. (Unless I find some dried out squashed ones in the boat). Will post when I return. Gonna have to start giving a few away myself or return them to the water. The freezer is getting full. Happy fishing!!!! DB

Not to good today DB, only caught about 7 keepers and maybe 20 in all. 4 of the keepers were about 13 or 14 long. I actually caught the biggest in an area that I did not expect to have any luck. Maybe a fluke, but I caught it in taylor park cove where the small stump row is before you get into the cove very far. Met some nice folks in a pontoon boat and gave them my fish if they agreed to take my pic with the biggest fish. Will post tomorrow when I get my wife to download. Wish that I could go in the morn. but goota go back to work. BTW my partner played out on me today, so I had another solo run. Sabot, I caught a nice one on your condo......call me in the morn.

Hey Kooby, Thanks for the fish. Glad I didn't take more. We fished till dark and I ended up cleaning 17. Today was slow, fished from 9 to 3 and only caught 2 keeper crappie. GF caught a 14" channel cat and lost a big black. I'll try it again Tuesday afternoon. Ruben

i love me some dead, dry, squashed minners
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
