Chris,

I have owned 27 full blown bass rigs since 1989 when I was guiding full time on Fork. I am now on my sixth Bullet. I will give you a fair and unbiased opinion on the Bullets because I like all boats. My last three Tritons were great. I fished out of 3 Bass Cats when I was guiding and they were great too. I had two Gamblers prior to going to a Bullet. I have also owned three Rangers over the years and they served me very well. I love the new Z21's. thumb

I am kind of like a walking consumer reports of bass boats. Not because I want to come across as a know it all but because I have had personal experience with most of the premium brands. If Mercury built a 400XS, I would own a 22' Champion because I think they are The Best Ride on the water. They are just sloooow with a 225 or 250. I just like a boat that can accellerate hard and run 100 or so on the big end. That limits you to a very select few as you know. I have also owned two Allisons and they are by far the fastest bass boat on the planet but you give up too much fishability in one. Been there done that. smirk

I currently own a 20XRD Comp with the new 300XS. It is an awesome rig. I had a 21XD a few years back with a 300 ProMax. It was awesome too but not as fast. Billy Sartin is a first class guy and will take good care of you after the sale. The new 21XRD with a 250XS or 300 would be the best of many worlds. I would put the ride of the 21XRD up against anybody's boat. Almost everyone knows someone that knows someone that has ridden in a Bullet and said they beat them up in rough water. I fished with a guide this Feb on Fork out of his 300ZX Skeeter that almost killed me and it wasn't even what I would call bad rough that day! Remember, the driver has a lot to do with how a boat rides. Most times it is the Indian, not the arrow. and that goes for ALL boats. hammer

As far as fishing the stumps, the Bullet is as tough as anything on the water. Too many folks out there associate weight with strength. The two rarely have anything to do with each other. Out of the six Bullets I have run, I still see two of them regularly. They are 1994 boats that have been ABUSED big time! They have a few spider web stress cracks in the splash well area but that is it.

Sure there are a couple of things I would change about them if I ran the company like the way you have to scoot forward when you are sitting down in the driver's seat to open a rear compartment but those are little things. The 20XD rides okay for a 20 foot boat. The 21XRD rides exceptional for any boat.

The guy that used the Corvette analogy said it best, except the Vettes are getting plusher and smoother riding these days. cheers

I will PM my cell to you and we can talk.

Later,

Ken fish

Why is it that some people focus on matters that have nothing too do with the subject of the post/thread, an poke their nose in some ones personal business..

http://www.blazerboats.com/SpecSheets/bass-boats/202-specs.html

http://www.strokerboats.com/

^ Both of these would be fast since they are lightweight and have an unlimited HP rating.

IMHO,

Blazers are nice boats but are not 100% hand-laid like the Bullets and Allys. They look good and run good but they will not perform like a Bullet. cheers I actually like the seats better in the Blazer. This does not mean they are not good boats, but it is impossible to build a boat as strong with a chopper gun as you can by laying it up by hand. This is the primary reason they are 100-200 lbs heavier than the Bullet. clap

The Stroker on the other hand is hand laid and is a very fast hull and a good fishing platform. Several of my friends out in the eastern U.S. own one and they love them. The problem with them: The closest dealer is 800 miles away. What do you do for warranty or repair issues?? noidea

The Blazer has to run pretty close to the Bullet with the Same Engine set-up because the Bullet Hull weighs 1175lb and the Blazer weighs 1250lbs. 75 lbs isn't going to make that much of a difference.

The Stroker 21 weighs 1200lbs.

Fast Lane,

Weight has less to do with it than you think. They are close to the same weight but there are differences on the bottom of the hull that make the boat carry weight better. Out of Bullets, Blazers, and Strokers named here, the Stroker is heavier than the Bullet and still the fastest one when rigged to fish.

The Bullet will pretty handily outrun the Blazer with the same hp. It has been proven time and again. This doesn't make it a bad boat, but it is less money for a reason.

Besides that, don't believe everything you read in the brochures.
