Add a few yellow cats and it won't take long.

Its a smallish brown and yellow catfish that isn't good to eat. I agree add some yellow cats and they will eat them. I have caught yellows with mud cats on drop lines before.

mudcats are the best flathead bait you can get. But if you put a couple of yellows in your pond you're likely to see a decline in the number of bass and other fish as well. Depends on how big of yella you put in there.

ya i agree, some med. sized yellows would fix the problem to an extent..... of course that depends on how big the mudcats are and yes they are nasty haha, catch them and put them in some one elses pond(just kidding.... sort of)

Thanks for all the feedback so far but I really dont wont use yellow's for the reason mentioned above about them eating bass and other small game game fish. For those of you that are not familiar with the nasty little suckers they also are really bad about eating other fishes eggs. I WANT THEM OUT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE...Someone once told me about shocking the pond with a battery and telephone wire havent been able to find much more info about it.. This tank is in between Shiner and Hallettsville

If you got bass in there they will take care of the problem in a few years, worked for me, was an accident, but it worked.

You can get a commercial catfish "shocker" on Ebay for about $50.00 but they tend to not work as well when the water is cool. If the pond is of any size at all you may have to run it from a small boat or canoe to get good coverage. These things work VERY WELL but it may not rid you of your problem, only lessen it. The only sure way to be rid of them(that I know of)is to poison the pond and re-stock it. Good luck!
