Thanks a lot VHS07, that will help me a lot to get a better insight of the region. Yep, I don't have a boat either, I think I'll try the 'boggy' as well. Good luck VHS07

well your welcome. i didnt have a good feel of the area at all little i download google earth... now i scout the coast for fishing spots. when are you gona be down there...im gona get up really early and experiment a bit by wading the peir and casting to the lights... but idk if i will get up that early. but when the sun comes up ill be in boggy hoping to find some tails, and if that fails out ill wade further down to little boggy
ps be carefull in boggy you will sink, it can get dangerous its probly more dangerous than the stingerays but walk as flat footed as you can to help spred you bood wait equaly on your foot...

Look closely. All tagged but in the wrong place. All tagged in the mouth. I know.......should be around the tail. Oooops.

They will wear you out. Nice fish! Did you get them around Bird Island or in the Jetties?

Jugmaster.......Caught these inside the Jetties on the right side as you go out. There were about 20 boats between Bird Island and the Jetties as we went by. So, I would imagine they were doing pretty good as well.

As you go out of the small jetties in Port O Connor, the big jetties are straight across the bay. Do a google satellite map of the area and you can't miss it. You will see Bird Island also.

From the fishing center ramp they are about 5 miles by the channel. There are little Jettis and big ones that lead to the gulf. We caught bulls around both of them over the past weekend. If you go to the big ones don't sit in one spot for too long. Move to totally different areas and try putting live mullet or live croaker about 5 ft off the bottom.

ITS HARD TO GO WRONG THIS TIME OF YEAR FOR THE RUN. HOW HEAVY IS THE TRAFFIC? 25 -30 YEARS AGO YOU WOULD SEE ABOUT 5-10 BOATS ALL DAY AND FEW REDS. THE TROUT FISHING WAS NON STOP ALL DAY. YOU COULD CATCH 30 SHARKS A DAY. THE WATER IN TOWN WAS TERRIBLE AND EVERYBODY WAS ON A SEPTIC. THE LAST 10 YEARS HAVE BEEN GREAT FOR THE BIG REDS. WE CAN THANK THE CCA FOR WORKING FOR THE SPORTSMAN. ONE DAY THE SHARKS WILL COME BACK IN GOOD NUMBERS I HOPE.

Keeno.....Sounded like me, but I was bow hunting in Llano this weekend. I'm headed back to POC this weekend though. Should be good after this little front. Probably be my last fishing trip until I kill a good buck. I actually saw a buck chasing a doe last week, so I might be able to get a good one early this year.

What lb line are y'all using to catch those guys? i bought a surf rod/reel combo for my trip down there this weekend and wasn't sure what type line I needed to put on it.
The guys at Bass Pro in Dallas said to put 17lb test but I wasn't sure.
