We left around 1, and went to lunch, and hung out there for a while.
Decent but not spectacular amount of white bass, a surprising among of mostly small blue cats with a few keepers, a buffalo, a carp, and some various smaller species. Between several us.
Not bad for one morning. Caught mostly on roadrunners and rattletraps.

There was a guy out there castnetting and keeping sandies, I told the lady as I was leaving. Hopefully he got busted.
I pulled in one sandy in an hour, and went to another spot of mine.
It was just too hot.

How far is the spillway from parking. 20 steps or so, depending on your height.

If it wasn't for the railing, you'd drive right off into the water at the discharge!

After reading all 7 pages, My interest was peaked, so I took a drive down there this Am. All I can say is thanks for the hookup. Got there about 9am, took a look around & settled on a spot about 100y down on the E. bank. Nice water, waded in & commenced to catching fish almost every cast until about 11:30. everything came on a 3/8oz. Chart/white Humdinger. total for the morning: 15 sand bass 8-14" 3 hybrids 3ish lbs 2 Largemouth 2 catfish One thing interesting. All my experience river fishing has been fishing w/ the current. no bites this way today. They all bit either right @ the end of the drift or while retreiving against the current. Anyway thanks again & hope to see a few of you out there tomorrow morning. I may even go back this evening. one other thing- thanks to John and his son for sharing their spot w/ me today. Couple really good people & great company! tight lines -Brian

not really. I had to go in all the way to my chest in some spots to get past the willows, and there was a lot of current. I never needed to go more than 150y. down. I'm going back in the morning. somebody told me the boils/birds have been going off down @ the first bend for the first hour in the am. tight lines -Brian
