 mine only goes 26mph (GPS) boy, sure would hate to have a head wind going that fast

Not a chance in Hell..
Anyone who has ever owned a pontoon knows that there are NO 2 outboards in the world that could power a pontoon to 89.
Tho' I might just be talking out of my A$$.. Has happened before.

There used to be a pontoon with a 250 on it that would haul arse.

on lake ouachita in arkansas, there is a aloha pontoon boat with twin 300 4-stroke yammy's on it. they said it woould do 70 mph and there is a lot of pontoon boats up there with 200-250's on them.

That's nuts. They were about one small gust from flipping that thing over on it's back and killing every around them. And my guess is they were going 51 MPH not 89. OK maybe 54. Tops.
