I guess you should be thankful you were not in the Gulf. I would get that motor checked out after three breakdowns.

been there done that...june 4th 2005 around 2:00pm on lake lewisville. I have one better then that. how about a champion bass boat minus the outboard? mine fell off and was being held on by the steering cables. I had well over 200 boats pass me. here I am standing on the front deck with a red throw cushion in hand waving to passing boats and shouting at them. so I feel your pain believe me. everytime I see a boat in the middle of the lake if I am in a tournament or not, I check. and yes this was the weeked of the elite 50 on lewisville.
about 6 weeks ago on bridgeport, my partner and I are lower unitless on his skeeter. we pass by a dock full of people and they ask hows the fishing? well it would be better if we had a lower unit to run the lake with or get a tow in? guess how many people jump at the offer to give us a tow in? NOT A ONE!!!!! there was a bass boat ties to the dock as well.
so not all people in boats will help you.

Then why would you hope to never be broke down on Joe Pool. I guess I missed something. Well, sorry if I don't run over and offer help if you are driving by under power of the trolling motor, and not trying to signal me.

WOW, Your motor fell off??? Now THAT's got to suck big time. I don't think I've ever heard of that, other than the Aggie joke, where one of em sticks his head underwater and says "Duh, you got to choke it!" Sorry about the bad luck.

Man that sucks. If you had a phone or a marine radio you can call Lynn creek. tell them your boat is taking on water and it wont start, they'll come get you, (joke).
If you fish Joe Pool put my number in your phone. If you break down and I am on the water I will help you out.

Hal...that is a heckuva nice gesture. I have ran out of gas about 1.5 miles from the marina at Joe Pool but just elected to use the TM to get back. I wasn't in any hurry at the time.
But it is nice to know someone out there will help if someone is in trouble...
