Well folks we had a dandy of a time today despite the winds. A total of 17 teams totaling a little over 50 anglers braved the winds to try their luck at the 340.00 purse. After a steady 5 hours of fishing Team MWD, Mark ??? won with a healthy stringer of 10 sandies weighing 6.98 lbs, coming in a really close second was Jason Ensign and Greg Poort with a stringer of 6.80 lbs, and a respectable third was Team Catfish Joe Coleman and Carl Ellis with 6.23 lbs.

After repeated talk of hybrid limits many of the anglers signed up for the big hybrid accumulating a handsome $90.00 in the pot, however, all of the anglers failed to obtain a hybrid of legal limits or was anyone able to obtain or those who did, failed to register in the Any Big Fish category so three places were given to the top three yellow bass. Joe Coleman netted the $90.00 with a yellow weighing .48 lbs, Team Jason Vanheukcom (sp) and Zack won 45.00 for a .36 lb yellow, and Team MWD added an additional 35.00 to their purse for a yellow weighing .23 lbs.

The fish fry and weigh in was a great success thanks to Capt. Joe Coleman for the weigh in help and Corn Bread Mafia Member and fish fryer extraordinaire Randy Wood whose batter mix, fish, and fried jalapeos were out of this world. People were literally waiting in line for food with 3 fryers going and 3 folks filleting fish. After speaking with these gentlemen they assured us that TSA is taking on a new image and the tourneys will be more family oriented and if so I will reciprocate in attendance.

A million thanks to our sponsers;

and Anton for his bottomless drink chest.

Many thanks go out to Anthony for the location selection and the use of his trailer so I could nap. D. Easley for the tables, it was good to see Eddie Lane, Fuzzy, Moran, Jnd59, and all the other people who contributed unselfishly. The pasta salad was supreme, the cheesecake was a knock out, cookies, condiments, and labor was indispensable in making this event a success. Well behaved kids and sober anglers and a few dogs made it a very nice way to spend the morning and afternoon chattng with anglers, kids, spouses alike. In the end the place was clean and all was accounted for and I have no problem doing this again. If I have forgotten to mention your contribution please forgive me. Lastly thanks to TFF for allowing us to post it online and for getting anglers with common interest together.

Oh thanks to all the wive's, girlfriend's, and all the kids for helping, attending, and fishing the event.

You ran a great show Mando. Thanks to you and Anthony for taking the time and effort to make this a success.

Congrats to MWD for the victory, and Greg and Jason for finishing a close second.

It was good to meet a lot of new friends from the forum like Danny and Randy. Randy, that was some darn fine grub.

Jason, tell your better half the peach cheesecake was awesome.

Fuzzy, it was good to see you again too for the first time since the old redfish roundups Redfin used to ramrod.

Joe, thanks a million for the ride and the fellowship. Next time let's just fish and avoid all the drama of trailers falling off the hitch, wires ripping out and fishermen on the rocks. LOL!!!

LOL!!!! You got a deal buddy!!

I think you two were the only ones who stuck many fish slabbing. All we could snag that way were yellows.

Mando, since there was no big hybrid. How many people were on the 1st place team? Let me figure something out for them.

Nice work Mondo. Looks like a good turnout, a lot of fun, and some quality competition.

Congrats to the winner, but just as importantly, congrats for putting together a solid event.

Thanks to the photographer too! I never saw a camera, LOL!

Here's the link to the other thread, that way next time Mando organizes one of these we can pull both up together and remind everyone how much fun this one was.

To all hump thumpers:
What a great day to spend a day. Good organization. The kids were outstanding which means to me that the parents are even more outstasnding. The only thing lacking was co-operative fish, just wasn't enough to go around. Good to meet so many pleasant people, lets do it again real soon Mando. Randy you are a good cook,if you do windows, I will hire you.

It was a great time thanks to Mando and everyone making it happen. The best part was meeting everyone and taking fishing for a few hours. ...oh and the excellent food!

Thanks to the generocity of the lure and food prizes!

I have to add that the winning stringer (along with 4 slab crappie, two channel cats and an undersized hybrid) came on the TNT limit getter and Rainbow slab. Thanks Trolling Nolan for the gotten limit!
