Sugar is arguably the most harmful substance regularly consumed by the average person. Some studies have suggested that its addictive properties may even surpass those of cocaine. It's alarming that a substance so closely linked to widespread health issues remains legally and widely available, while therapeutic substances such as cannabis and psychedelics, shown to benefit individuals suffering from PTSD and trauma, continue to face legal restrictions.

This paradox raises questions about public health priorities. While evidence grows supporting alternative therapies for trauma survivors, society continues to invest trillions in treating preventable diseases driven by poor dietary choices, many of which are directly linked to excessive sugar consumption.

If sugar is so bad, then why do people say "sweet" to good things?

A healthy society isn't profitable for the medical industry. Keep'em sick. Keep the profits.

I agree.

Go three weeks, at least, without any sugar. Then try a sip of soda water. Coke, Pepsi, whatever. It'll blow your mind with how much it effects you. Sugar blows caffeine away by leaps and bounds. Hella of a drug.

I try to avoid sugar. I don't eat candy and may have an occasional pastry. Otherwise when I go out it is unsweet tea with lemon, no sodas. Unfortunately for me I do not get a sugar "high". I get immediate sugar lows. If I drink 1 Dr. Pepper I will get super groggy and start dozing off.

FYI- Sweet baby Ray's BBQ sauce is 3/4 High Fructose corn syrup. Most of your store bought salad dressings are 3/4 seed oil. The stuff is straight poison that tastes good.

When the government has thought about regulating sugar in the past, they were accused of running a "nanny state".

Wait till the SNAP cuts really begins. Seeing how the feds want the states to pay for half. We're going back to the choices of government cheese, peanut butter, and milk.

Coca Cola is getting billions from SNAP as they peddle their caramel flavored sugar water.

Beer is mostly carbohydrates that are then metabolized to sugar (glucose)

Our processed foods are filled with sugar and corn syrup. One only has to look around to see that the American diet has gone way off track for the last fifty years. Education is a big key. A lot of people don't know how bad those foods are for them.
My hope is that Robert Kennedy can lead an initiative that will improve our foods and our medicines and provide normal health for more people.

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.
Bill Shakespeare

I don't need this kind of negativity in my life.
