Closest lake to me is Kickapoo, when it's full it actually crosses one of my fence lines. We have a family house on PK so I consider that my home lake. My cousins used to lease one side of Kickapoo that the city of Wichita Falls owned, then we leased 10K acres that bordered that property, Kickapoo and Briar creek and the Little Wichita river ran through the property, it was an amazing place to hunt, my cousin still has it today, I think its been about 30 years. I was also on another lease on the other side of Kickapoo, it was about 10K acres as well.

Bachman. Seen the lake go through many cycles since I started fishing her in the 1980s. They are done with the new skate park; which is great as Bachman had one of the first skate parks in Texas in the late 70s. Almost done with the new dam/spillway also. They lowered it about three feet while working on the dam; hopefully it fills back to full pool as it fishes better with more vegetation and rip rap in the water. Bachman skate park, haven't heard that mentioned in a long time. I thought I was going to die dropping in on that big vert ramp.

Cedar Creek and Purtiis Creek grew down there fishing in the same boat I use today… I fished Purtis, nearly every week, for 16 years. From 1988 to 2004 when TPWD destroyed the hydrilla with carp. Spent a lot of time on Cedar Creek too, fishing with old men that knew the structure like the back of their hands. CC got too crowded but we used to sack em up out there.

Belton lake.
I can remember my father picking me up and sitting me in the seat of a John Deere model B to watch a tornado loose it's tail as it danced over Belton lake.
That tractor was a hand crank. Huge flywheel you had to spin to start it. Guess who Dad had start it when they got old enough?
Big brother took me on a swimming trip in Belton. Him and his buddy were pushing a small chunk of 2x6 plank under the water between each other. Next thing I know, this ragged board pops out the water and it busts me in the face. Caught me right above my right eye.
My very first stitches. (I personally was having a blast. My brothers hot a$$ girlfriend was blotting the blood. She was in a bikini.)
Big brother was such an Supreme Ahole. Phallic head almost took my eye out....in Belton Lake.

Lake Travis...first fished it 50 years ago when the folks bought a "cabin" on the Bee Creek arm of the lake. Wife and I have added on and now live there full time.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading

Lake Proctor. I only go a few times a year now, but I tore it up in the late 80`s and 90`s. The hybrid fishing was great until 1997 when the Corp of engineers decided to open the flood gates in the winter and lost thousands upon thousands of fish that took years to accumulate. They never did restock it enough to get back to the levels it had been prior to that.

Lake Waxahachie and Lake Bardwell Poor guy. Ive always been mostly a catfish guy over the years, and both lakes have spit out some nice blues and plenty of channels cats-
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Cedar Creek. Not the lake I learned to fish on, just the lake I have spent the most time on because I have had a place on the lake since 1981 . 99% of the time I fish during the week. If I have to fish during the weekend, I'm out early and back by 1000.
