Going in first thing in the morning to have mine taken out. Been having a dull pain in my abdomen for the few months and finally broke down and had it scanned after a couple of pork chops almost brought me to my knees. Turns out I have porcelain stones and the Dr. said it needed to come out asap.
I've been told I'll be on the sidelines for a few days. But beyond that not sure what to expect.
First surgery ever. Not looking forward to it.

Yes, 10 years ago. The first day after surgery I thought no big deal, I'll be back at work in a day or two. Then the pain hit me, I think from being pumped full of air or gas for the surgery. I couldn't raise myself out of bed or recline back without really, really hurting. That lasted a couple of days. I was fine after that wore off. I've never really experienced any digestive problems and I eat anything I want.

My wife had hers removed a few years ago.
We changed our diet for a bit, but she seems to be good with most foods now.

The earlier the surgery, the less time you have to be awake without eating and drinking.
But 5am does seem early .
Good luck to you. I hope it goes without issue

That's for wimmin folk... Gallbladder removal that is.

Wife had hers taken out 3 years ago. Wasn't really a big deal. She was back to fairly normal in 2 or 3 days. Definitely she had to avoid any sort of fatty foods for quite some time. Or it would make her sick. I'm sure your doctor will talk to you about all that. But yeah steak, brisket, bacon etc going to be off the menu for a little while at least.

Best of luck! Let us know how it goes. You'll have a day or two recovery to play on the TFF so look forward to getting an update bud.

I did. You’re doing the right thing. If that thing ruptures on you it will cause sickness like you can’t imagine. Get it out, piece of cake. Avoid that scene.

Wife had hers removed 3 years ago as part of a Whipple procedure. Gallbladder was the least of her problems. Best wishes.

Mrs RayBob had her GB out about12 years ago. All went well. Some foods will run right through her but we eat whatever we want. Recovery was a snap !

Had mine done about 15 years ago. Good to go after 2 days. Eat whatever I want but when the urge hits I have about 30-45 seconds to get to a toilet. No such thing as holding it or touching cloth I have to GO NOW.

Yep, Coach Hark is right. Sometimes you need to hurry a bit to the toilet. Personally, Baked Lays potato chips absolutely sprints through my guts.

I had my gall bladder removed a couple of years ago. Major pain prior to that was from the Pancreas, which was backed up due to gall bladder sludge (a term used by the nurses). Here’s my understanding of how that part of your guts works. The Pancreas produces enzymes for digestion, and those move to the gall bladder, which in engineering terms is intermediate storage. If your system needs more enzymes at a particular time, they’d be supplied out of storage - the gall bladder. We folks with no GB no longer have that storage, and it takes a while for the system to adjust, and a while to find out what foods you might best avoid. These days I can eat most anything, but avoid Baked Lays chips.

And it’s best to avoid large meals, I have found.
