Frozen vegetables that you cook in the bag they come in and eat for supper?

When you open a can of corn, you don’t put in plastic container to heat it up?

Research on the health impacts of microplastics in humans is just beginning. The particles have been found in multiple organs and tissues, including the brain, testicles, heart, stomach, lymph nodes and placenta. They've also been detected in urine, breastmilk, semen and meconium, which is a newborn's first stool.

You mean without a known problem. Is your vision good enough to see microplastics? If so I'm envious.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

It’s like most things- the studies are funded by industry that stands to benefit from using less plastics. Plastics alone are responsible for a ton of positive things/saved lives the past 100 years.

What about the plastic containers? People use those more to heat up food verses a bag.

I'm guilty of it. Nuking leftover potatoes. I leave them in the container. Seeing one container almost melt. Imparting a flavor (I ended up throwing away the food). I've gone back to using a glass plate.

I use the freezer bags but I don't cook in them. I have a dedicated 2 quart stainless pot I use for veggies/rice.

The worst are the plastic crock pot liners. People have joked it's the current asbestos.

It’s not just Stanford- lots of studies being done- some validity, I’m just saying it’s overhyped.

I am right there with you. I worked over 40 years in LDPE and HDPE along with all of the other chemicals that we produced. Getting ready to be 69 years old and still going strong.
I am more worried about all of the preservatives and dyes that are put into our food than micro plastics.

I guess IV bags will have to go back to glass. They are autoclaved for sterilization and sometimes microwaved for patient comfort.

Plastics have saved countless lives and pushed society forward. Yes it’s plausible to think some things could have a better application than plastic- but they are by far a net positive at this point in society.
