When I first moved here in 2019, there were a few free ramps on Lewisville. Now I can't think of one. They are ripping money out of your pocket no matter what. Those prices are gnarly for only gaining access to one lake and limited ramps.

And Dan wants higher prices!
He is not even an elected official yet, and he want to raise taxes.
And he called soccer players riff raff, some of you may have missed that, but I can't let it slide.

Towerbay ramp is awesome. The gate system is suspect . It works about half the time.
Lake Park has to keep pricing down so they can continue to support the 7000 soccer players that infest it all summer. That fence they put up around the swimming area is beautiful too. Honestly, Lewisville is doing there best to make Lewisville lake suck.
Copperas has the giant swimming area. Soccer has become way to popular lately
It also has a wonderful location where wake boats can pound the ramp all summer long.
Pilot knoll is a gem. We need to keep all those Denton people out of there

I understand your point of view. I do. However I need to look out for the best interest of my constituents.

Definitely way less riffraff at the Highland Village spots...

ok

My proposal will make boat ramps less expensive for my constituents when they visit other municipalities. Because if those municipalities are charging my constituents more than we're charging their constituents they've got a problem and need to come to the table to discuss it.

We are not going to keep getting ripped off and taking advantage of. We offer visitors aka non-residents, a great deal to come visit! While our neighbors take advantage of us. That's all going to end.

While I agree that boat ramps are a pressing issue; there are other priorities.
Lewisville has the worst chaotic non grid like street pattern in all of Texas.
There are turn lanes where you can turn left or choose to go straight, or unimaginably choose to turn right. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Yes, the entire city is a low river bottom flood zone with sharp windy sloping intersecting creek topography; but those roads were laid out by someone who couldn’t draw a straight line. I’d like to suggest the least intrusive solution; but nothing short of blowing up the entire town and starting over could fix it.

I'm calling for a federal ban on launch ramp fees of any type... There are communities out there that don't have the good fortune of having a ramp to extort its residents and visitors... Dan flag

I have a hard time allowing someone with Collin County in their name talk down about a Denton county city. Even if what you say is probably true.
I grew up in the ville, but it really went downhill about the same time Dan came to town. I don't think that is a coincidence either.

I live at the intersection of Dallas, Collin, and Denton counties; so I have an honorary welcome to any BBQ in the tri county area.
We all talk smack at the BBQ, but it comes from a place of love.

I can't even imagine having constituents like that.

Actually, I have one 2 miles from the garage... We also have a lot of free ramps, some owned by the TVA and others just old roads that end in the water... Only places that charge are the marina controlled ramps. Their reasoning is that they have limited parking for their customers so it's done for business reasons... It just burns my arse that we paid to have these lakes built through taxes, both state and federal and now they wanna turn around and charge us a fee to use them... Dan
