What is or would be your favorite fishing shoes? This would exclude shoes for extreme cold or heavy rains.

Be safe,

Whatever walking or jogging shoes I grab 1st. I cringe when I see the pro anglers fishing barefoot with 10 or 15 rigged rods on the deck with them.

I wear the Simms ankle boots daily in my guide service. Ultra lightweight long pants, ultra lightweight shirts that cover my hands and have a hoody/face buff built in.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Definitely Fliprocks! https://fliprocks.com/
I use them on the yak, boat and can go to spikes when I'm shark fishing the jetties to prevent slips. Their new booties are sweet in the winter months.

Reef sandals (flip flops)

Trying Olukai this year, if deals can be had.

Not enough info. Fishing from a boat, wading a river, wading the coast, beach, walking a bank... each of these could necessitate different footwear.

2 weeks ago I may have agreed with you. But I just got my first pair of Brooks and they feel like a hug for my feet. And not just any hug, a big, double armed, cute-chick-full-frontal hug.
