It astonishes me how many people can defend someone who admits (in his video) to breaking the "INFO" rule and then plays the "VICTIM." Trust me I have fished around Scott for years in the FLW days. Been around him on and off the water. Not the guy that u see in his videos! People forget he DID NOT get an invite to the BPT when the split happened bc all those guys know who he is. BASS took him bc they needed names and thought he might stay in line! Well a tiger can't change his stripes and now BASS has to pay for it with how they handled Okeechobee and with Scott being Scott! Video's and text messages and refusal to take a poly? How much proof does it take for some of ya'll to just say "yeap he broke the rules".
Karma has been slow to catch with him but it finally has! He actually qualified for the Elites through the Opens just like the 100's of other anglers in the past, they didn't just take him. Unbelievable misrepresentation of the facts here!

This is not hard. DON'T SOLICIT INFORMATION THAT MIGHT HELP YOU ON TOURNAMENT DAY WITHIN THE TIMELINE SET!
If you're defending Martin, two very simple questions need to be answered.
1. If he wasn't looking to gain a competitive advantage why would he call a local he admits he didn't know that well?
2. If he's innocent, why not go through BASS' process? You can't just say you don't trust their polygraph, it's given to like 10-15 anglers EVERY tournament, and other than Matt Herren, EVERYONE else has been fine.
It's possible other anglers have it out for him, that's not uncommon when people are known cheaters. After the Astro's garbage can debacle they were targeted by other players as well, people bashed them (no pun intended), I think they led the league in being hit by pitches, boooed everywhere they went, and generally regarded as scum within the game. And they earned that.....no different here.
Here's a novel idea, if you think people are out to get you, don't "bend" the rules or think you're living in the grey area. He's a cheater, period, end of story. This isn't about Seth Feider, Matt Robertson, Gerald Swindle, Greg Hackney, Canadians you may not like, BASS, or anyone else.
It's about Scott Martin getting caught cheating not once, but possibly twice inside of a month. The fact that he quit based on an investigation should tell you all you need to know.
I don't think it is a fact he quit based on an investigation He paid for and provided BASS with a poly from a 3rd party. BASS chose not to accept this. Fact BASS is protecting 2 anglers here, and dragging then name of one of the families that created BASS through the mud. Whatever you think about Martin doesn't really matter. BASS has done this to themselves and there are plenty of BASS apologist in this thread BASS seems to be good at driving there top athletes and names away God you couldn't be more wrong. Go hug B.D. or something.

A whole lot of people on here running with a whole lot of assumptions. To my knowledge BASS hasn't spoken and the only info that has come out has come from Scott himself. All of your posts are based on previous feelings toward Scott or Bass.
On procedure alone:
If I was asked to take a poly to prove my innocence simply because someone else made an allegation based on secondhand knowledge, then I would likely refuse myself. Guilty until proven innocent is not something I play with. So far, no one has come forward with any hard evidence that he did anything wrong. In this precedent, one could make allegations randomly against tournament favorites in hopes they fail a poly on something random.
We also have Scott’s statement where he said he reached out to someone to gain a competitive advantage. So there is that. Haha, thank you for proving the first statement in post true. You only come away with that impression if you already had a bias. Same could be said with your impression.

Immediately guys on here bashed Trait.
Since then I have heard 2 well respected veterans make the same comment as Trait.
I don't necessarily think Scott was trying to "cheat". I believe he thought he was operating within the rules. But he was certainly seeking information to gain an advantage and operating in a gray area. Maybe he is not as squeaky clean as his fans thought he was.
I have more respect for BASS for enforcing rules regardless of who the Angler is.
Some are also hating on the angler that protested him, but by rule they are required to disclose such info when they receive it.

This taking side is interesting- it all comes down to cult of personality- Scott or Bass aren’t near as big or as important as their respective fans think they are.

Randy’s B hard hitting commentary- basically said Scott is innocent, polygraph is no good, he didn’t seek info- people forced the info on him- it’s like a girl accidentally getting pregnant, she slipped and fell on top of that thing…

It the protesters are really Fiedler and Robertson, I can see those guys having no problems trying to bait someone into something like this. Unfortunately, we truly don’t know all of the details of this story to say if Scott was setup like he said. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was two of the hammer bros. Robertson may want to be careful that some of his Ky tournament history doesn’t boil up.

Lol Trait spent years having Chris go on the water with her and show her exactly where to fish in the Opens and still couldn't cash a check. While she wasn't breaking the rules, its a bad look for her to try to be the info police now.

Dang people get over it. Scott is a great guy and BASS has done great things for bass fishing. Splits happen all the time and it doesn't mean that one is wrong or one is right. No need for name calling or getting ugly because this effects your lives zero percent!
