I've been to three of them. Stephenville, Roanoak and Burleson. None of them were worth the money IMO. Was working a job in Stephenville and two sandwich meal deals cost me $50 for my coworker and I.

Been to a couple of their locations. A mediocre imitation of Coopers in Llano.

The BBQ snobs like to hate on Hard 8. It's better than average, priced pretty high. But there are the free beans (free with purchase, of course).

I’ll give a 6.5 to the one in Stephenville. Both times young man sliced brisket with the grain. Both times meat tasted like Sunday pot roast. Sides were ok. Out

^^^ I've always thought the brisket at the one in The Colony was like pot roast.

I`ve never been a fan or understood the hype. Overpriced below average BBQ.

I don't understand why anyone would make and sell inadequate brisket today. Not like there's some dark secret to it.

But apparently it's just too much trouble for a lot of joints. So they throw out substandard dog food.

Prefer Hurtado, Lockhart or Del Toro

My family are all in agreement that it's Overrated. I think when you get multiple locations it's like they lower the quality of meats to provide higher profits. A lot of times investor's come in to help your expansion. But they require or want you to attain higher profits. So they cut the quality of meat they buy. Of course this is my opinion and it doesn't matter to others . But I'm going with it.

I'll give them props for using proper smoking equipment. I see it as a tourist attraction much like Joe Ts. It's an experience.

They are fine. Nothing more, nothing less.

Lot's of discussion on Hard 8 on a thread a few weeks back when they made a top 10 list on some publication. Not going to go through all that again are we?

They're decent. Not worth the drive for us. We have some darn good Q closer.
