Portofino's in Lincoln Square. I managed a store in the square and the owner was a customer. He would bring me lunch quite often and I ate dinner there a few times. He would never let me pay and when I would try to tip the staff they'd tell me that I was not allowed to! Great guy and the food was freaking amazing!

Clary's on Galveston island. The owner started out as a bus boy and bought the restaurant. There were pictures of celebrities and even ex presidents with Mr. Clary on the walls. After Mr. Clary died his family ran it into the ground. Then Ike took what was left.
Best seafood I've ever eaten.

Shame I don't remember it. But I'm only in Galveston a couple times a year.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Vivian Courtney’s had the best whole fried channel cat I’ve ever had. I lived a bicycle ride away and used to buy my uncles cigs from the machine there.

Those machines that had the knob on a heavy rod. You really had to bang.

Mommy had me pull the lever. Pretty neat machine.
