A tad out of the region, but Phil Schmidt's in Hammond, Indiana was in business for 97 years before closing. Known for yellow perch, walleye and frog's legs. On the southern shore of Lake Michigan next to a soap factory.

Used to be a chain restaurant called Kodiak. Middle of the road type place not high end. Had a decent menu with some wild game on the menu as well. Had all kinds of bears and wild animals on display.

Little neighborhood spot called Misto Bistro. We loved that little joint.

The only taco cabana outside of Texas used to be in Atlanta. Hated to see it close.

Circle K Steak House. Was located in my area. Ate dinner there many many of times in my younger years. They had the best 16 oz's T. Bone, baked potato, and salad for $14.89. Also a dollar for a ice cold mug of beer. When the owner passed away the place closed down three years later. Those were the days.
