The Toyota dealer I bought my 2021 from (Mt. Peasant) has been trying to get me to trade in my 5.7 truck and buy a new 2025. They do not offer the 5.7 V8 (or and V8 for that matter) anymore. The service manager knows I tow a boat and told me to keep my '21 with the 5.7. He said (kind of under his breath) none of the new motors are as good for towing than the 5.7 I currently have. The service manager is blowing smoke up your butt hole

The last two generations of Tacomas had issues the first model year that were corrected in subsequent years and any first year owners were covered under warranty. Same will happen with the Tundras, I’d imagine.
It’s disappointing that Toyota has had issues with first-year models on each truck. Seems like that kind of thing didn’t happen in the past. I think it’s the first 3 years on the new Tundras- does anyone really know if the the problem is fixed? They claim it was machining debris, seems to always get the front main bearing, it may be a design issue… when you think of things that fail in motors and systems --- anything using bearings is suspect . When i heard of the waste gate failures ---first thing I thought was how fast are the spinning the " blowers " ? Then , how reliable can they be long term . I would bet a ton of money --- that the total cost of fixing these out of warranty are gonna be crazy high that right there is the crux of the matter. When that thing craps out, it'll total the truck. just one more example of EPA directed nonsense over MPG there isn't a car company that makes anything close to perfect . All you can do is try to eliminate what might become the most expensive repairs if you plan on keeping it long term . The new motor in the Tundra is having problems that will 100% be insanely expensive . Adding two "blowers" --just add's higher cost and probability to repair . The 2001-2005 Tundra has/had lawsuits for ball joint failures where people died from loss of steering . Mine have been replaced twice and Toyota did NOT step up at all . My RAM has the eTorque . Hated that I had buy it with that feature ----even though I personally worked on the buck converter portion of the step down function with a local semi company . It has had a starting issue when new . Otherwise it drives great and the power can be fun

I’m a big Toyota fan, it’s all we have. My brother bought a 23’ Tundra new, he babies his stuff, synthetic oil changes every 5k, no stop and go driving, no towing. His motor blew a month ago around 30k miles. Been sitting at the dealer ever since and they said it will be 60 more days. I’d find the nicest low mileage previous gen 5.7 Tundra if it was me. I’d go with this. I have a 2013 that has been perfect. Give Toyota a couple of years to get their act together and reputation back on track. PS I got 70,000 Miles out of the original Tundra tires. My 2013 developed a cam tower leak in 2023 at 105000 miles. Repair estimates were between 5000$ and 6100$. I looked at that as a sign to get a new truck. I was thinking of an upgrade anyway and this pushed me to do just that. Overall was a good truck but way overrated on towing capacity IMO unless on mostly flat ground. If you can live with the mpg (which was NOT a consideration for me) I would for look one with the 5.7.

Of course they do. They don't want those pesky tariffs.
Hire bubba to assemble it. Put a sticker of the rear window. Made in Texas.
What kind of sauce does sushi have? Little rolls of fish.

You can drive while eating sushi. No, no Toyota definitely doesn’t suck. We have a 2015 Tacoma TRD off-road started with 5000 miles now has 136,300 miles and has never been in the shop. Anecdotal, maybe, but that’s my reality. Excellent product.

I’m just about to turn 200,000 miles on my 07 Tundra limited. First year of Gen 2. It has been great. The starter was replaced at about 150,000. Right rear taillight bulb had to be replaced once, I had the cloudy headlight lenses replaced. That’s about it, except for oil, filters, brakes, shocks/stuts, tires, wipers. Every year I take it in for a bumper to bumper check. Had the front end looked at, just because it seemed something has to be fixed eventually. No problems there. The truck may outlive me. I considered buying a new one, but this one runs so great I just don’t need to waste the money. An amazing truck for 18 years, and more to go.

I'm good with my ten year old Chevy. Not gonna do it. Japanese advertising, thinking they're better. Nope. S,few that truck and wholesome about doing it.

We have had Toyotas for many years including Tundras, 4Runners, Highlanders, and FJcruisers. Really no problems with any of them except maintenance and general wear items. I’ll give Toyota time to right the ship and will order a new one as soon as feel they have corrected the issues. I think the trend that all car manufacturers are following by putting smaller turbo engines in bigger cars is going to be an issue going forward. I’ll keep my V8 and my wife’s V6 until I see some improvements.
