I use BBQ sauce according to what type of BBQ I’m eating. If it’s brisket or beef ribs, I do not like sauce. If it’s pork ribs, sausage or chicken, I’ll use some sauce.

That's sad

Not really. Good Sauce compliments the meat, no matter how good it is. I grew up around what some should say is the best bbq in the world (Luling, Lockhart, etc)

agree.....without sauce,BBQ is just smoked meat.....I do believe that really good smoked meat doesn't require much sauce.....

I agree…Kentucky makes good Bourbon……leave the BBQ to southern men.

Any state that would elect cane shaker al green to congress can step aside from bbq or southern conversation.

So you're saying Texas should step aside in any BBQ convo ? roflmao roflmao roflmao

Yes. This thread explains it perfectly. Don’t get me wrong, I felt proud as hell watching those two proud Texans getting recognized in epic speech last night. I realize al green is a supporter of Texas bbq though and it just doesn’t pan out. Embrace either or, can’t have them both. Texas would rank about a weak 5 spot with Alabama. Just the Facts here.

Texas should be proud of DJ DANIELS and his DAD though, so I know men still reside in Texas. Starting to get worried though with all this paste called bbq sauce, stick with tacos and leave bbq to the masters👍

This may not be the biggest pile of equine dung I've ever read on these boards (I've only been reading here since 2003) but it is definitely in the top two or three .

“We not bout dat life”. Texas voted her in. I refused to post on day we had to create Texas day, but we created it. Don’t forget it. Currently your voting habits like cane shaker is embarrassing this country to the point kalifornia and kanada is laughing.

Texas: Whatcha doin' this weekend?
Kentucky: I'm going to BBQ.
Texas: Whatcha BBQ'n?
Kentucky: Just doing some burgers.
Texas: You put BBQ sauce on your burgers?
Kentucky: *Stares into space with confused look*

For Kentuckians, that would be "grilling" burgers.

If I do not make my own I normally go with head country, occasionally sweet baby rays, either way I do not use much unless the Q is not very good to begin with.

When my ribs are about done, I prefer adding just a little sauce and a good portion of brown sugar.
