Your independent agent doesn’t need to be near you. I have used the same one for 14 years and have never stepped into their office. Everything on my end is a phone call or an e-mail.

We got renewed for the second year with sane companies the broker set us up with. No increases at all. Actually been getting rebate checks on our auto insurance every 6 months. We did their 30 day driving app program and it actually lowered our premiums a bit. Pretty painless to use.

I had Allstate for over 25 years until a couple years ago when got just too much. Only one small home claim over 20 years ago and a few small accidents over that time. Had to pay for my own new roof and that drove me to USAA. Nice agent, but couldn’t touch USAA for price or coverage.

We had been with Farm Bureau for years and years. The agency owner and my agent are good people and I consider them friends but the increases from FB got to be silly. They did the best they could but we saved too much to not switch. Probably cost us a big chunk of change by staying with FB as long as we did.

I started doing the driving app with Allstate and I got 100$ just to start using it and the anticipated "rebate " will 205$ for the 6th month renewal.

I also got 1 last week with a crazy price. It was 1/2 of what I pay now. Coverages were a little lower and higher deductible. I sent a pic of it to my independent agent who I have used since dumping State Farm 20 years ago. My past experiences with what they send out in the mail is the prices are always teaser rates to get you to call. Nonetheless in this case it is so low I am going to email the agent a copy of my current policy. My current agent represents probably 10 companies and can't get close to it. Mailer was just on the house. Another thing I noticed with these things in the past is while they show a great rate on the house vehicle insurance will be not so good.

Dan Taylor with Peoples Choice Insurance. I have used him on everything from auto/boat/home/life. He is a broker and has always done a great job keeping rates down. Every few years I shop him and nobody has been able to beat his price for coverage amount.

Allstate is low pricing bc they don’t pay claims for [censored]. They will deny it or estimate a repair on roof when it should be replaced. If you’re willing to fight with them you can get it paid eventually but not without fighting. I’m an adjuster for another company but there isn’t a company out there the roofers hate more than Allstate. Just my PSA for those attracted by there lower rates.

Truth, I have a friend who makes a butt load of money as an independent claims adjustor that works for attorneys only. He said he bought his house and hundred acres and put two kids through college just on Allstate claim disputes...

I’m looking too. All State has good rates but they are bad on claims. I talk to contractors and they are the worse. I had a different company. I took me 5 months to get a roof. But I won.

Not a broker, but USAA if she qualifies as a vet or has one in her family tree.

I have USAA. I’ve never had any issues, although, I’ve never made a claim either. Rates are good. A few agents that have wanted my business shut it down when I tell them my current company is USAA….they always say “I can’t beat them on rates”.
