A reel that does that to you doesn't even belong in your arsenal. I'll buy that reel from you Tom for $100. You don't even have to mess with the backlash.

Who says you can’t backlash a Shimano DC reel, their most expensive one at that. Those DC reels blow up at random. Only with me. Actually, it was all my doing. Was tossing an a rig and when I went to cast my thumb slipped off the spool just as I started to come forward with the rod. Dang near tossed the rod out of my hand. Surprisingly, it wasn't very deep at all when I cut it out.

Yep definitely the reels fault. its never our fault, all our casts are perfect and land exactly where we wanted no matter how much wind or if you hit the power pole on the back stroke. Yep that reel stinks.
