SF takes a $30 million dead cap hit on this deal. Must have really wanted to get rid of him. Good deal for the Commies, plenty of cap space and if he doesn't work out it's not a big loss. If he does work out, he can be a force.

Technically it's 17.5. He has one year left on the deal. Based on their qbs rookie year i think they are in a win right now mode officially and are gonna put all the talent around him they can. If he is healthy and can play the year it's a no brainer especially considering he is auditioning for his next contract. At least that's how I see it.
