Wow, Nice fish Chuck. Is this the earliest of the year that you have caught two record sunfish the same day. Congratulations on yet two more record fish!

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Yes this has been the earliest in the year that I have caught back to back record fish. I have only done it a few times over the many, many times I have fished. The other times have been during August through mid November!  Side Note: I caught back to back Rio records. One was for the weight record and the other was for the C&R record! ( Two separate fish)

How does one go about getting a lake record weighed and certified? I have a particular body of water in N Texas thathas a carp record that I am going after and have no idea what the proper procedures would be.

How does one go about getting a lake record weighed and certified? I have a particular body of water in N Texas thathas a carp record that I am going after and have no idea what the proper procedures would be. Go to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Web page. Look for the Fish Records and Awards section. There you will find the rules and regulations, along with the records application that you would need to fill out and send in. It is a very easy process. I am a Official Weigh Station for Texas Parks & Wildlife and if you need any further assistance on the records process you can send me a PM. Good luck on getting that carp record. They are a blast to catch and are one of the best fighting fish you can catch. Let us know if you get it!
