As far as water goes they can all have water issues. FIL in New Brunswick, Can. has a sump pump in a collection basin and runs a dehumidifier 24/7 in his full size basement.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools

Glad you are safe and hopefully did not sustain any damage, that does happen but for the most part you know what block it is on with the weather reporting now.

I have a fear of the in house shelters. What if you get trapped in it with falling debris and it catches on fire?

Yeah, the thought of being trapped under or above ground doesn't sound appealing to me, especially with burning debris around, but I guess it's better than having 2x4's and other things impaled in me. I would think the odds of being trapped in an inhouse shelter would be pretty high vs an underground shelter outside

OKC has a Storm Shelter Registry for that purpose.

Mine has about 6 inches of water in it. I'm now at the age where I don't give a [censored] anymore. Just let me die. Wife gets all mad when I won't come to the storm shelter during a bad storm.
