I'd like to know if this creek that he got info on is the same creek his friend Bill Lowen won the tournament in? Now that would be interesting

Why do tournaments have an information rule? It seems like a nearly unenforceable rule. Furthermore these guys bunk up with plenty of other competitors/friends and share all sorts of information between the group.
I don’t think it’s coincidence that j. Wheeler and d. Connell are nearly always at the top together, they share all kinds of information. Johnston’s are another.
Just let the guy with the most money and resources to gather as much information from as many sources as possible be the winner.
Serious questions? Has there always been an information rule. It seems like I can remember as a kid watching bassmaster and hearing the commentators talk like so and so got information from a local and it being legal. This was when I tuned in on TNN on Sunday nights.
@Mark Perry - I just don't see where the inconsistency is.
You don't call BASS not DQing repeat rules violators, not mentioning the DQ in the same Olen a guy got penalized(which was announced), 4 guys running the no wake zone and only 3 of them getting a timeout inconsistent?
Matt's son said a video was forwarded to BASS of an Elite angler soliciting info for Okeechobee but no action was taken.
The way yiu stop guysfrom breaking the rules is to have a strict policy on enforcement and make the penalties hurt the angler. You don't do away with all the rules because no one is following them. That leads to chaos.
Be consistent, swift and fairly heavy handed and the grey are BS will stop or begreatly reduced. If a guy gets 6- 7 infractions in 12 months perhaps you need to sit him out and event ir two. Do BASS rules say that repeat offenses result in a DQ? If not, I don't understand your argument. And how do you know something isn't going to be done about the Angler soliciting info for Okeechobee. Sometimes investigations happen before actions. It's Tuesday. And who knows if the son of the DQ'd Angler has accurate information? I don't think most people assume that hearsay is real these days. Especially when it comes from someone with an inherit bias. It seems to me they are doing exactly what you propose they do in following the rules they have, so we just see it very differently. In regard to new rules for punishment of habitual offenders, that's best done in the off season. I don't think I'm sitting guys out 11-22% of their season for infractions though. It would take something more substantial.

Oh the irony in all this. He was irrelevant anyway, good luck on the technically challenged tour.

So if you get caught breaking a rule, you quit where you were caught and that makes it go away?
The NPFL allows someone, who was DQ'ed from the top trail in history of bass tournaments, to quit that trail and come on over?

I'm not sure I would say BASS is the top trail these days. That sounds like more of a personal opinion rather than fact. Who honestly watches pro bass fishing? I look at the results occasionally. I think most people could care less if they all went out of business. The people that do want to watch pro fishing want to see the kids shake a minnow. Probably be best to just go spectate all the high school trails.

I think all of them should be polygraphed twice a year plus any check. That would be interesting.

What a stupid rule! By the way they are moving into the marina on lake Tyler, hope you don't get DQ.

Anyone receiving a check is how it should be. It's not realistic, but that's how it should be.

Information sharing between competitors is allowed. My question is what about unsolicited information. Lots of these guys have YouTube channels and there is always a few comments about what the anglers should be doing at an upcoming tournament. They may not ask for the information but they cant unsee it either.
