Good to know. I’m much more of a Daiwa guy. I do have an SLX DC. It’s quite a POS….but I use it for C-rig…any reel can chunk a mile with a 1oz tungsten. I also have two “tuned” Curado DC reels. Ceramic bearings and carbon handles. Those feel A LOT more connected to the rod and line. Casts about the same as the SLX DC. One thing I’ve never liked about the Shimano’s….they will cast 50 times perfectly, then BLOW UP for no reason. Not very confidence inspiring. My Steez and Tatula reels are very consistent and almost impossible to backlash when setup correctly. Step up to a JDM Antares DC MD. Can toss a rigs into a 20 mph headwind and not backlash I already own better. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/02/full-93588-260643-img_2835.jpeg) I owned a few Zillions and Steeze. Their definitely nice reels and every bit as good as Shimano. If they did away with the t-wing I'd give them another whirl. When I fish bottom contact I keep my index finger under the line for feel and out of habit. After a few casts it causes the line to ball up on one part of the spool to the point of jamming up. Every few casts I had to make one and just reel in to level it back out. For that reason alone I sold them all.

Terrible. I will crank with Daiwa though.

I have 3 SLX DC reels and love them. I only use them for cranking though, very hard to backlash at that. The noise they make is kinda funny and weird. They work great for me in that application.

That's no shiz! I recently got my first high end Falcon (Cara Heavy Cover Jig) and the sensitivity in that thing is phenomenal.
