Tiger Woods receives the presidential medal of freedom from President Trump. It was a great day for black history history month at the White House today beautiful celebration. Tiger Woods lost his mother earlier this month. He’s been playing golf with President Trump. I hope Tiger feels better soon.

Don't deny his talent, but he was a snotty pr*ck until he f'd himself up. Now he wants to be errbodys buddy. Didn't care for him before this interview, but when an interviewer asked him if Jack was the greatest golfer ever his reply, "Well, I'm pretty good too." Screw him.

He dates white chicks. What’s he actually done for black folks? Tiger Woods has had a significant impact on the Black community, particularly through his achievements in golf and his philanthropic efforts, though his relationship with the community has been complex and sometimes debated. Woods broke racial barriers in golf, a sport historically dominated by white athletes, with his landmark victory at the 1997 Masters Tournament. At age 21, he became the first Black golfer to win the prestigious event, finishing with a record-breaking 18-under-par score and a 12-stroke lead. This triumph at Augusta National, a venue with a history of racial exclusion (it didn’t allow Black players until 1975 or Black members until 1990), symbolized a powerful moment of progress. Many in the Black community saw it as a source of pride and inspiration, akin to Jackie Robinson’s integration of baseball, with elder Black golfers like Lee Elder calling it a “happy and glorious day” for African Americans. Through the Tiger Woods Foundation (now part of TGR Foundation), established in 1996 with his father Earl, Woods has focused on educational opportunities for underserved youth, many of whom are minorities. The foundation has provided college scholarships, after-school programs, and STEM-focused learning centers, serving over 175,000 students in its first 20 years, with a reported 98.7% college graduation rate among participants. In 2015 alone, it invested over $7 million in such initiatives, targeting low-income communities, including Black youth. Projects like the partnership with the Cobbs Creek Golf Club restoration in Philadelphia—a historic site for Black golfers—further tie his efforts to the Black golfing legacy. Woods has also paid tribute to Black golf pioneers like Charlie Sifford, whom he called his “grandfather” and named his son Charlie after, as well as Lee Elder and Teddy Rhodes. His 1997 Nike commercial alongside Elder and Sifford highlighted their contributions, reinforcing his acknowledgment of those who paved the way. However, his impact isn’t without nuance. Woods’ self-identification as “Cablinasian” (a blend of Caucasian, Black, Indian, and Asian) rather than solely Black, first coined on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1997, stirred mixed feelings. Some in the Black community embraced his right to define his mixed heritage, while others felt it distanced him from their struggles, especially given golf’s racial history. His reluctance to take vocal political stances, such as on civil rights or the Black Lives Matter movement (beyond measured statements like supporting “change” in 2020), has also led some to question his engagement with broader Black issues. His personal life, including his marriage to a white woman and the 2009 infidelity scandal involving predominantly white partners, further complicated his standing among some Black observers who value racial solidarity. Despite these tensions, Woods’ success undeniably expanded visibility and interest in golf among Black Americans. While the number of Black recreational golfers rose after his 1997 win (from 1.5 million in 2007 to a peak before declining to 800,000 by 2017), the sport’s high costs and limited access have hindered a broader influx of Black professional players. His cultural imprint endures, though, as a trailblazer who reshaped perceptions and opened doors, even if the full diversification of golf he inspired remains unrealized. For many, his legacy in the Black community is one of excellence and opportunity, tempered by a personal approach that prioritizes individual identity over collective advocacy.

Congrats With offspring being 50% paternal and 50% maternal nuclear DNA….then with an additional maternal only mitochondrial DNA having an additional effect, some countries qualify “race” as primarily maternal. Tiger identifies as Cablinasian. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/02/full-30144-260472-img_9813.jpeg)
