Why shoot up the cartel? Why not audit the banks they use first? Why not do both? Why answer a question with a question? You did the same thing.

Avoiding a shooting war would be kinda nice, don't you think? Cartels have already been shooting lets shoot back Then the car bombs start happening. They've been dug in going on years. Never think just because it's just a bunch of Mexicans driving Fords. That they've haven't been taught how to be insurgents. Better get them all in one lick or else the cross border stuff is going to heat up.

Things are going to heat up...pretty sure.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

If the cartels decide to start a war, ir would be very easy to bomb every known members home or business and kill them, theor families, associates and supporters. Time to deputize Texans and turn them loose.

You take the head off the snake,
the body WILL DIE That's never worked with cartels or gangs. Just creates internal power struggles and new heads arise. Too much money in it for it to be otherwise. Cutting off demand is the only way to stop this. Several methodologies and mechanisms you could apply there... Killing cartel guys rules but it's not a means to an end. That's a naive idea at best and more likely foolish. 100% That's what got the Cartel Wars of 2010-2014 going. Several Cartel leaders were caught in a sting and that took away the upper leaders of several groups. The enforcers (Zeta's- That are not even named in this document) were trained by the US military. Then they essentially started there own cartel. And the blood bath got full steam rolling. Another cartel even assassinated a former cartel lawyer turned state witness in Southlake Tx. To this day there has been named suspects of a cartel in Mexico but no one there that day has been arrested. Instead a guy the US government had pinned on another charge took the rap for the Southlake incident. The fix is to take away the demand or legalize the demand. Knocking off the controlling heads of these organizations will only create another struggle for power from the younger more ruthless street thugs with a lot more to gain and more less nothing to lose. That scenario will continue to repeat itself as long as there is a demand.

Horse has left the barn on eradicating the Mexico supply. I’d guess 30/40% of their manufacturing is now on this side of the border.
