Lost and found! Then lost again.. dang it all!
Keep in mind this is Texas and conditions change rapidly in every watershed that might hold whitebass.
Don't be discouraged if you can't find these fish because they move around a lot.
Here on Friday and gone on Saturday!

I kayaked the whole lower end of this creek looking for crappie and whitebass but caught only one tiny crappie early morning.
My fish finder lit up all the way down and back up showing fish in nearly every structure but nothing would take my jig.
I was about to head home when I decided to make the extra effort and see how far I could go upstream. Glad I did!

The White Bass Run really heated up this weekend. Hopefully the rain and cold front won't set things back too far.

Here's a few nice ones I picked up this weekend.

Sometimes I just can't sit in the house and be comfortable. I have this need to be outdoors and to challenge the elements is some small way. With the messy weather rolling in throughout the day I really wanted to be up a creek somewhere looking for the whitebass that had pretty much eluded me since the first of the year. It took some work but I found a dozen up this little East Texas creek before the heavy rain chased me back home.

Longitude does too. I have no clue why this is the case, but east texas (even if further north), almost always starts earlier

I had an excellent day yesterday before the latest cold front blew in. I saw spawning activity for the first time this year. I caught several big females in that area.

That's probably the most yellow I have seen for a Yellow Bass / Barfish, sometimes I catch them with a light tint or gold tint but never one like that. thumb

Howdy TxDanFishman,

Yellow is a very effective fly color down here as well. The yellow bass, in particular, love yellow flies. I even tie one I call the barfish briminator. They must be cannibals grin
