I had several years ago. I did all the stretching and wear the best running shoes possible. I do the stretching exercises to this day. The older we get the more we should stretch.

I did a bunch of stretching exercises. Cleared up in a couple of weeks. That worked on my left foot. I roll a tennis ball around on my arches every morning, wear the boot things to bed, and have the supports in all my shoes. My right foot still kills me. I’m not so sure I’m liking this shot either. That was very kind of Bigbob_FTW to offer helpful advice to you after you s*** on him that one time. I love Bob…and him doing ^that makes me even more proud to know him. Come to think of it, I think it’s time that we all become more Bob-like in our dealings and things of such nature. (Any seeming connection between my various posts containing references to forms of fun with human waste is pure coincidence.)

I’m pretty sure 98% here know it’s mostly in fun and don’t take it personal.

Had one in my heal before and damn almighty that hurt. But it worked…and no numbness. Also special insoles helped a lot. A frozen water bottle rolled on the floor helps too...

I've had multiple shots in my foot where I tore my tendons. They always freeze it first then the shot. Usually less pain than a honey bee sting. I would probably kick the B in the face if she didn’t freeze it. Not by being mad just reaction to getting stabbed in my sensitive feet. You will feel much better tomorrow. Good to know! They did spray the cold stuff all over it but damn it still hurt. A bit worried that nobody else had numbness. Hopefully it doesn’t fall off I know it sounds crazy, but have you tried spraying (or streaming) some warm urine on it? Wouldn’t fox urine, with its penetrating properties, work better in this instance rather than human urine?

I have had 2 of them, one in the ball of my foot, the other one in the heel. Lots of good advice on here, I still do the stretches with a tennis ball and I am pain free for over 10 years. One of the most important things to do is pay attention to your shoes. There are a couple of brands that will cripple me up within a few minutes of just trying them on in a store. I also don't wear the same shoes two days in a row, work boots included and that really helped. Good luck.

Just had the same shot for the reason two weeks ago. I asked the doc how bad it would hurt and he said, "This is not going to be the best part of your day." It did in fact hurt. I had no numbness in my toes or anything. Hurt worse than it did before the shot for 3-4 days. Now it's 95% better with no plantar fasciitis pain at all really.

My foot gets injected 1-2 times of yr for pain caused by my Liz Franc fracture. 4 injections between my toes and 5 injections on the top of my foot. I can't speak about the numbness since the half of my foot is always numb due to the nerve damage. But man talk about painful

Did you have the numbness? Dr didn’t mention anything about it and I didn’t ask. Numbness probably from them mixing lidocaine in with the steroid. Or maybe that gave a pre-numbing inject with lidocaine. I had plantar fasciitis for 7 straight months once when I changed brands of my work shoes.

When you get an injection in a joint or tendon area it is pretty important to force the tissue fibers apart with the pressure from the plunger of the syringe. In the case of my elbows it was to force apart the tendon sheath.
Hurt like Hades on the first elbow. One surgeon friend that did my right elbow gave me a scrip for Tylenol with codeine (#4) which I tried to refuse and he said nope, that I'd want it. Took about 45 minutes for the lidocaine/marcaine to wear off in my 1 hour drive home from his house. Luckily I'd stopped at a 24 hour Walgreens for the meds. Thought I was gonna cry when the pain started. Popped 2 #4's and slept it off and woke up in the AM and my elbow has never hurt again.
