You did it on your own for that price? Sounds kind of high.

For a diesel that's about half price from a dealership.

$300 is about the going rate for a dealership oil change.

No doubt dealers are a rip off, that’s why they are called ripofferships.

I don’t know $85….

Do y'all have to use a special oil in Minnesota, I mean when it gets as cold as does?

15 years ago I would purchase oil on the weekly special at Pep Boys. Usually there was a coupon that basically got you the oil for nothing and the filter for one to two dollars.
Lots of times I changed my pickup's oil for a couple of bucks. But oil regular price was like .97 per quart.

I bought some the other day and 5.50 a quart was the best price they had.
Ridiculous.

And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

On my 2018 Cummins, it took 12 qts of oil, 1 oil filter and 2 fuel filters. $125 is a good price. I assume you are not using synthetic oil.

My Dodge 2000 Cummins
ROTELLA T6 15-40 oil, three gallons which is one quart more than I need. 72.50
Fleetguard oil filter LF16035 16.96 (bought in a pack of three)

Fuel filters I bought 12 about a dozen years ago but they were about $4 per filter.

$93.46 for all of it although I only change fuel filters every couple of years. I monitor my low pressure fuel gauge and when the pressure changes I change the filter.
