Influenza "vax" is pretty strain specific and it's always given before flu season when the predominant flu strain(s) are not known so you may or may not get enhanced resistance.

I've heard a lot of folks say they had the flu but diagnosis is not possible without getting swabbed for a culture. And most influenzas are a 10-14 day course of illness.

A lot of what's going around now is RSV and a rhinovirus .

I'm taking an antibiotic which only work with bacterial infections and I usually refuse to take but already did 10 days of this type illness 5 weeks ago so wanna toss the dice to maybe knock this round out. The antibiotic sucks and I wish I'd refused them but I'm committed now.

Heard my granddaughter was just getting over this and yesterday I could tell the wife was beginning to crash. I will go into solitary confinement until they recover…

I just think it's an rough year. I don't see much of an agenda. Every year is a different flu strain. Sometimes multiple strains per year. Things change over 10, 20 and 30 years. Plus far more population.

Real flu is way different than the "flu". You are not getting over the real flu in 2-3 days.

I've never been down more than 3 days with any sickness. Including vomiting and diarrhea which to me is the absolute worse sickness. Even when I got covid I went to work on day 3. I work solo on the road and take my lunch so I didn't bother anyone. Just like this flu I'm just getting over. If you get up and get active I feel it helps along with clean fresh air.

He said no COVID fo far.

Said half that got the flu shot are now sick.

I agree with CKINCAID on the pussification of America. This morning, Chip Wagoner, the traffic guy on Ch4, said everyone should stay home if they can because of the rain. WTF!! Rain makes us stay home now?? REALLY?? I nearly lost it this morning and it wasn't even 430am yet.

However, on the school closing due to the flu and RSV, I agree with that when there is a larger than normal outbreak. CKINCAID says activity and fresh, clean air is helpful for him, which I agree with as well.

However, having 30-40 humans in a relatively small room sitting down and half of them are spreading respiratory sickness isn't the way to go. Couple that with it being many, many classrooms full of sick kids making other kids sick ain't very good either. RSV is terrible and the "Real Flu" can F you up pretty bad, especially if you haven't had your flu shot.

If it's a larger than normal problem in a given district, I got no problem with them closing a day or two to disinfect and break a cycle

It is widespread and going on in Florida as well, my two grand babies and mom and dad have had it for the past few weeks. And they both work from home confused 3 My other grandkids have been fighting something down in the Austin area over the last few weeks as well - they have three kids and the youngest of them is the only one who has not got sick yet.

RSV has been around since 1901 and was isolated in 1956. I am suspicious of it being so much worse now than it was back then.
It makes me think someone (a LAB) might have been tweaking it to make it worse. That or the JAB might have weakened the heard immunity to it.

We both drive way more than most, you're telling me you got upset that a TV guy told people to stay off the roads on a rainy day? Most people around here can't drive safely/logically on dry surfaces! God bless that man. I pray people listen to him! I need to get to work and it would be nice to have the roads free of idiots doing 10 mph with their flashers on because there was a damn raindrop hitting their windshield!

My daughter's boyfriend has covid. I think there is still a shot for that....

We should develop 24 hour shots.
They should protect you from getting sick.
