Watching Fox this morning they were interviewing people in North Carolina that were in the Hurricane in September, These people didn't have a lot before and next to nothing now. Been living in tents and using porta potties for 4 months. Women looked pretty rough. Granny Clampet comes to mind. (Not their fault)

Later they were interviewing people in California that were impacted by the fires. Them women look like they just walked off the set of Housewives of Orange county. Just my Observation.

That sounds right. The average home in California where the fires were was probably over a million.
I doubt many who lived in the Carolina hills had that kind of home.

It was odd how Biden got a free pass for the way the storm victims in NC and that area have been treated.

This is the way these emergencies have been taken care of from the beginning of time.

I remember going to superstorm sandy a handful of years ago for emergency response, I was there to clear/open up roads and access.

Never worked in a neighborhood of regular working class people, most had garages full of high end cars, and were some of the most thankless people I’ve ever met.

It doesn’t surprise me, homes in CA that were destroyed were million to multi million dollar homes, and are owned by people with multiple residences, it’s apples to oranges.

I’m def not sending money thru the Red Cross to help la fire victims, most can help themselves, let them do that

I think most of the money in Ca goes to the cleanup right now. nfh can clear that up maybe.
They gave everyone money. Someone here said they gave people in Ca $20 more than the people in the hurricane.

Is that abnormal? I don't know. I feel sorry for the people who are living in tents. I doubt if that includes anyone in Ca and if it does they have a lot better access to "stuff".

Yesterday I bought a few groceries in Midland, The cashier asked if I wanted to round up for the victims of the California fires? I said no but I would give to the victims in South Carolina. She just rolled her eyes at me.

I feel horrible for those in NC. LA fires has gotten more air time than the inauguration.

It's gonna get a lot more air time since so many celebrities are affected. They will be on TV for years trying to get attention.

Even Bill Maher had a rant about it the fire situation. I'm paraphrasing his rant but it was something like "I'm glad the lesbians got firemens' jobs now but I'd rather have my house not burn down". Again, I'm paraphrasing there. It's all good and fun and games til the elite rich peoples' homes start burning down.

I bet the NY Health care CEO murderer was glad for the press coverage in LA.

Wasn’t there to get your vote or talk politics, just to help. Trump gets up, first bit out of his mouth was more or less how thankful he was for having won NC in ‘16,’20 and ‘24. I like trump, but that dudes ego is beyond massive.

Sounds like plenty of cleanup to do in NC, hope it gets done soon. FEMA and to a lesser extent the USACOE have been train wrecks for quite awhile, FEMA has been a mess since the beginning. So much red tape.
