I thought they were mostly like the old one in Ennis that has been around for decades till I saw the new store in Mansfield.
That one is totally awesome.

Looks like they are going to build a new one here. They just bought some land on the other side of town. We've needed a new one for a long time. Outs sucks compared to the new ones

Still a decent haul for you but it beats having to go all the way into metro

It will kill any stores in the small towns around for sure

I drive through Rhome about 10 times per month going to and coming home from my primary job and probably several other times monthly on my side jobs. Right now we go to the one on Heritage Trace as my wife's job is just a few blocks from there. She drives through Rhome every week day. After the way they jacked up prices at Brookshire's in Bridgeport the past few years I'm fine with the competition. I'm betting HEB pays their employees more than the few small grocery stores here too.
cheers

I do wish we could have explored the new one in McKinney before we moved. We went once and it was absolutely packed, no surprise at all. We donโ€™t have anything like HEB in close proximity to us now. They are building a sprouts across the street

Don't think I've ever been inside one, are they really worth the drive?

You guys need to understand,H_E_B is one of the biggest real estate speculators in the country, they only build on less than 10% of the land that they acquire.
While I would love to see them build in Rhome,(very close to me),I donโ€™t see that happening for another 5-10 years, they are not like Walmart, they will build where they will have a crowded store 24-7,if one comes to northwest Tarrant or south Wise county itโ€™s likely to be further south.
I HOPE I AM WRONG

We have 4 here in Odessa and Midland. Prices are 20-30 percent less expensive than smaller chains. I compare it to Spring markets that are owned by Brookshires in Coleman and Ballinger. For instance a can of Cambells soup is .99 cents here and 1.29 at the Brookshires. .29 cents may not that much but 29 percent is a lot especially for older people that have a limited food budget. We pretty well stopped doing the bulk of our grocery shopping anywhere else besides HEB. Great selection and good prices. Their store brand items are all excellent too.

I hope they start building soon. We have needed a good grocery store here for a long time.

Looks like the closest one to me is nearly 15 miles away. I'll stay shopping at Sam's and Kroger's for now.
