The most important thing to remember Jerry knows more about football and owning a football team then all of us... He might know ownership but he can't draft and build a team for chit

His choices with regards to "his" team all stem from one thing, and we all know it.
In the early days, the cowboys won 3 Super Bowls, and Jerry Jones gets "zero" credit for it, and "nobody" considers him a "football guy."
The only credit he gets is hiring Jimmy Johnson, and this "tears into Jerry's side like a butcher knife."
Until Dallas wins a Super Bowl, or Jerry passes, he will NOT stop doing things his way.
After all, it's HIS team.
...!

Do the scouts have any say on who they sign and draft or is it all Jerry and they just agree.

Do the scouts have any say on who they sign and draft or is it all Jerry and they just agree. Jerry is somewhat famous for listening to everybody, but only paying attention to and acting on the last minute/last second advice right before time is up. Scouts and other advisors in the Cowboys organization have developed a sort of last minute game of chicken where they all try to be the last person Jerrah talks with…as that is the advice he will act on. It’s absolutely ridiculous and stupid….and this circus of shenanigans has been going on since Jimmy left. Jerry is a horrible GM with terrible instincts as his priority is making money…..why does the WWF hold onto old almost crippled stars like Hulk Hogan and The Rock…instead of promoting younger, much better athletes. Name recognition sells and makes more money. Jerry loves name recognition and will choose it over the better player every time.

I agree Jerry does like name recognition but he has strayed away from that over the past several years, no big name free agents have been signed in forever, also they have had some really good drafts over the years, I think they have drafted more Pro bowlers than most teams in that span. Same with coaches, only big name was Bill Parcells, how long ago was that. The draft is fluid, you cannot go in to it saying I am taking this player unless you have the first pick, most all the teams do not make their selection until the last minute until maybe the later rounds, just never know who is going to call and try and make a deal jmo.

IMOP, lots of truth in both CC and HK's words..... To me it all comes down to this..... Are Jerry and Stephen willing to truly go "all in" to win a championship, think LA Rams (with all the long term salary cap issues, inevitable ups and downs) ...OR.... Is their primary goal to work within "a budget" in an attempt to produce a quality, competitive product within said budget in order to SELL said product to US in order remain "relevant"....so as to ALWAYS remain in the conversation....so as to continue to pad their net worth, the kids net worth and birthright, and Jerry's SELF image..... IMOP, it's WAY more the latter than the former.... Jerry screams to the heavens that's "it's ALL about the fans" (when the evidence shows it isn't) when most of us long ago realized it isn't.... at least as a priority. I guess if you want to consider ticket sales, exorbitant concession prices, the privilege of paying to tour the elaborate (many would consider self aggrandizing) facilities they've constructed, etc as "all for the fans.".... then, by that definition, I guess he's telling the truth... IMOP, the answer to the riddle is obvious.... In summary, it's about winning enough to continue the money express, television ratings and Q ratings, and Jerry's celebrity vs truly, day after day, working to win more championships....which is their right as owners, but, don't BS us that it's something that it simply isn't.... IMOP, and the evidence shows, that more and more Cowboy fans are on to Jerry's BS and have had enough of it.....

Second scenario for sure, I highly doubt we will ever see Jerry go all in and mortgage the future for a chance at a SB.

Cowherd is reporting Jerry is going to hire Brian Shottenheimer as head coach. We will see.
