Nice ones Trent. Me and Steve fished there Friday and caught a bunch. We kept 10 for the frying pan. We had a few 10 inchers and plenty of small ones. We still had a blast. There were only 12 people there counting me and Steve. We fished for five hours until the wind became the deciding factor to leave. It was a cold trip for sure and well worth it. The fish were right where you said they would be. Thanks for the information.

Fisher Park Limit this morning. Yellow Power Bait!

Me and my friend went to Kerrville yesterday and easily limited out. Met plenty of nice people. Gold Super Duper Lures got good results. Good times.

Friends of mine doing well at the Canyon Trail Race. Good numbers are still holding in some key spots. Also if you want to make the walk to the fishing hole, Lost Maples has some good quality fish there.

Canyon Trail Race is holding a lot fish. Trout are hanging by back water next to rocks. Also Fisher Park in New Braunfels still has some fish. Lures and flies at the trail race and power bait at Fisher Park. Two friends of mine made the trip up to Junction and fished South Llano River State Park. Both limited out using their Fly Rods. This is a good time to catch a Rainbow Trout.

Huaco Springs New Braunfels is holding plenty of fish. Fish are in the rapids down stream and are holding by the larger rocks. Orange power baits are getting the best results.

Plenty of trout in both the Guadalupe and Blanco Rivers. Power bait, Yellow in color is getting good results. Also stocking the Austin and New Braunfels area today.

Some of the ones that I caught and released from Carl Levin Park Park Pond in Harker Heights on Friday. Lost count after 10. I usually do well there every year. Water was cloudy/murkey like always. That’s why I used the fire tiger color crank bait. I have caught more rainbows on the crank bait than on my 2 other standby lures that we have all been using for years. This pond is easy to fish. It is shallow. Great time as usual. Next stop will be a very similar pond in Hutto. Good fishing to all and have fun!

Had a pretty good day at Hamilton Creek Park Lake in Burnet earlier in the week. The lilttle impoundment needs some rain like so many other places. Quite shallow but fun and one of my regular stops every year. Did catch and release more than a limit. February will be a fun month for catching rainbows.

Side Note: Friends of mine are easily limiting out on the Guadalupe River both at the Trail Race and Huaco Springs on River Road.

Anyone been to Castell trout fishing?

Yes Sir, I have fished there a lot. I missed this years stocking , but over the past years I have caught many of many Rainbow Trout. I have take some of my biggest stringers from there! It is one of the best stockings in my opinion. Also the locals are super nice people. Love fishing the Llano River.

Look for the deeper pockets just down from the General Store. I usually fish a Gold Super Duper 502. White Rooster Tails work good. Also if they are not hitting lures you may try Berkley Yellow-Salmon Egg or Orange colored power baits. They will be hard to find. That place was stocked back on December 3 of last year. The Llano River running through Llano is going to be stocked February 9. Parks & Wildlife will be dumping 2000 below the dam at the city park.
