Way back when..

With the 2011 drought killing the prior spring crappie and whitebass fishing season many of us just could not wait to get back on the Yegua... A good rise in the creek mid February 2012 set the run in motion and we met the challenge head on!

January 2013 started like the year before with the lake nearly two foot below normal pool level but this time the rise in the Yegua came in December.
It was a little surprising to find the whitebass had already come up from the lake as I was expecting to find and catch crappie..

The last half of 2017 was really eventful on the lifetime scale of things.
The passing of both mom and dad that facilitated the move out to the ranch and living the country life.
As often happens with life changing events I had very little time to fish with my buddy JMoe until the last of the whitebass run in March of 2018.
From that time forward we have fished together many times and included buddy Ray on the adventures.. and we all are better for the time "on the fly" together up the creek!

My youthful Lake Somerville adventures started with bass fishing the lake in the warmer months and crappie fishing in the late winter usually up the Yegua or Nails creek.
As the family grew I would often have my daughter and nephews along for the ride.. Those were good times for sure!

I think I started watching your videos sometime around 2010 or 2011. I've really enjoyed your content over the years!
