Do any of you guys know of a good chip for hotspots on Lake Fork? I know the real honey holes won't be on them, but to help out a newbie to the lake to help learn some spots. I have the new boat lanes installed just seeing what would be good for fishing spots. Thanks

I don' think that exists.

You could try out fishtips.com and buy some waypoints from someone.

Buy you a Martn's Map then save all the good spots to your depthfinfer on the water.

Buy Lance Vick's Boat Lanes chip to navigate.

I am going to look around my house. There was once a Map of Fork marked and it came with a video of Hollice Joiner going around the lake and explaining each area. Of course it was long ago and on an 8 track video. I must have watched that video a hundred times learning where all of the roadbeds and other structure was. The lake was a lot different back in those days but if I can find the map I will definitely let you know and you are welcome to it.

TPWD website has the location/GPS coords for all of the brush piles and fish attractors that the department has placed or were make when the boat lanes were cleared before the lake was impounded.

Hollice was a jewel. Fished with him several times. I remember we were fishing a main lake point one time and using dd20's. I had just bought a brand new lure (Storm wild eye shiner swim bait) and was catching 3 to 1 on him and my buddy. He def became a swim bait fisherman that day! And YES, that video is still around somewhere in my house!

Thanks guys, I looked at the Martin maps from lake fork maps and that looked very educational about the lake. A gentleman at LFT told me the newest Lake Master Chip for the lake Fork arra had spots marked on it.

All those nostalgic maps are neat to look at from time to time, but most lake fork creeks and ledges have silted in or eroded. If you fish the lake like you did 30 years ago it will be tough.

Buy the vick boat lane chip. Then look at the champs schedule and be out there that day. Drive around and mark every area you see clusters of boats on. That's pretty much all you have to do.

We shouldn't be encouraging people to become hole buzzards, should we?

I’m pretty sure this is pretty close to accurate on most lakes…

No doubt, there's countless hours of BASS Live on YouTube as well........

Pick a creek or two you like the looks of, pick it apart deep, shallow, in-between, and different structure & and cover. When you get a few bites, take note of what the fish were on, rinse repeat in other like areas. They live in every creek in that pond.

Isn't there a guide that did that and sells the chip?

Thats true. If I am able to find my box of 8 Track Tapes (mostly of old Bassmaster, FLW and Honey Hole shows recorded) with the Fork tape it would be more for the entertainment value and seeing what Fork looked like back in those awesome days if you even had the equipment to play it on which is crazy because I still do.
The map is in my garage along with my old Fishing Log Binders that have logs of my fishing trips on Fork and my early tournament days along with fishing articles like the one I cut out of a magazine talking about the new lake that was just filling up called Fork. All of these would be just fun for me to look back on especially some of the hand drawn pictures of areas of Fork where I had decent days and wanted to recap specific structures where I caught fish.
Nowdays technology is so awesome but every now and then it is fun to relive the old ways.
