When did SAL add these two $5,000 prizes to the program and why?
Was it to increase participation? I know of four 13lb+ fish that have recently been caught, weighed on certified scales and released.
Just wondering if recent controversy related to SAL and their cash prizes will have unintended consequences

I don’t remember when, but surely it was to incentivize participation. Just like the replicas.
If you’re legal what would the consequences be? Maybe you pay tax on the “prize”?
I remember a handful of years ago guy that looked like he smoked about 2 packs of
Cigs a day broke the AR record, it was later rescinded because he didn’t have a license. Probably plenty more examples. If you’re attracting attention to yourself, the law will probably be around.

The end of the year banquet and prize drawing were added shortly after a couple of donated SALs had some failure to thrive/mortality.
About the same time they categorized the Lunker, Elite, and Legend classes.

I found out about them when the Livescope master got arrested. Didn’t know about it when I turned in a fish. Won’t be risking anymore felonies for a stupid hat.

Do 8 pound fish entries get the same amount of entries into this raffle as a real sherry?
When the Sherry program went to 8 pounds I started to tune it out.
1 real sherry should get 5 entries into the raffle, ten pounds 1 entry, 8 pounders get a participation ribbon, since that’s what that is (sorry if you have your mug on the website with an 8 pounder hahaha)

So if you catch a real Sherry are you entered into both drawings or just the one?

When the Sherry program went to 8 pounds I started to tune it out.
1 real sherry should get 5 entries into the raffle, ten pounds 1 entry, 8 pounders get a participation ribbon, since that’s what that is (sorry if you have your mug on the website with an 8 pounder hahaha) you dont have to send a picture in of your mug... just the fish on measuring device at least 24 inches length they dont take your 8 pounder out of the lake... you get to release it, same with over 10... they ask you take 3 scales from the fish and send them in for DNA testing... if you dont have someone there to witness weight .. you just take a picture of it on measuring device... over 24 inches is all that is required. Is that too much to help TP&W oh.. they do ask what lake you caught it on..
