In 3 years Ewers completed 737 of 1,135 passes, 65% for 9,128 yards. Of those 1,135 passes he ONLY threw to the other team 24 times. You call that sucking then you don't know much about football. 68 of those passes went for TD's. This year he was 293-445 for 66% completion rate, 31 TD's and 12 interceptions. He did take 31 sacks and was sacked 69 times in his 3 year career. He is an elite college QB. Will Arch be better? Only time will tell and yes Ewers played injured the whole year, I'd take him on my team any day. As a matter of fact he's hella better than the 2 QB's playing for the national championship. Bill Belichick who knows nothing about football wants him in Chapel Hill. A lot goes into that... Did the receiver run a crisp route? The right route? How many drops? How many tipped at the line of scrimmage? How many under pressure? How many sacks? And all that applies to the Qb as well... Again it's a team game... Dan

Texas is gonna miss Ewers. If they were smart they would try and get him back for final year.

He's like Dak. Fans point out stats, which are no doubt impressive. Realists point out that those stats were largely racked up against significantly inferior teams, and with incredibly good talent surrounding him.
He's not even necessarily "bad" against good teams. He just isn't electric, doesn't scare defenses with his arm or legs really, and like Dak he seems to have a knack for a turnover in big games at the worst moment. Bad kid or bad QB? Not at all. Heisman candidate, national champion QB, or 1st round draft pick? No
The unfortunate part for Quinn is that his backup has a similar arm and better legs and the main reason Quinn started was seniority. Arch won't have the same team around him next year that Quinn did this year. Nobody is criticizing Quinn this year if we didn't have Arch on the bench IMHO.

What was your last square to bingo on Doc? The old Ewers/Manning is better/worse/will leave the program/is leaving the program/should be starting/should be sitting/etc potpourri of convenience and jealousy post.

And here come the experts. Serious question patriot, have you ever broken a huddle, ever played QB or you're just a football talent evaluator(mainly QB) ? If you answered yes to any questions, at what level did you play? I'm not saying I know talent better than you but I have said I played the position all through JH, HS and college. I have also coached football for 39 years. Does that make me smarter, NO but that's my background on my talent evaluation.

All true, except I bet Quinn is drafted in the first round. Depends on which year he declares and the other QB's on the list, but he will likely be the 4th or 5th QB picked, late first round or early second.

You have zero idea how Arch is gonna hold up, the decisions he will make on the field, how he will be down the stretch in 4th quarter..... no idea. You are purely speculating on what you hope will be the case. If Arch was better I'm pretty sure he would have been the starter and Ewers would have hit the portal before season.

And last I checked only 1 qb in all of college wins the last game of the season..... Ewers has gotten you really deep and close to that goal 2 years in a row. To say he can't win the big game are you saying that only 1 qb a year is the "guy". There are a pile of programs that would love to have him. Now how his talent translates to the NFL is a whole different conversation and irrelevant to the discussion of him as an elite college qb.
