Well ok...It was the last fishing trip of 2024 & we broke the rules. Slept late & didn't get to the lake until 11 am. Also, it was a Sunday which is normally a no-no, & yes, the lake was very crowded. Both decisions turned out to be good ones as we had a killer day. This was the "nephew" trip with Andy that we had been planning for a while & the wind conditions did not look good for Monday or Tuesday, so decided to brave it on a weekend. Water temp was 69-70 degrees...10 degrees warmer than last year at this time. We fished from 11:15 am until 5 pm & ended up with 31 bass...the biggest 5 went 21 lbs. Tried fishing deeper today thanks to Minner Buckets tip & caught much bigger fish than the last two trips. Also tried using a bigger (1/2 oz) jig head (swing jig) which helped a lot, except that the weight part kept falling off the hook. Maybe need to look for a better-quality brand ? Did get one big (5.05 oz) which brings the yearly total to 19. Cooler & windier this week, but really looking forward to 2025.
